Walking past Gloucester Cathedral earlier this week in the shadow of that gothic temple I witnessed bloody, unabashed cannibalism.
A herring gull was plucking at the entrails of another gull on the pavement.

Monmouth is so far from the sea that the poor gull probably despaired of seeing a fish again.
Except that the incident happened in Gloucester, not Monmouth!
